Exploring Bowie's London: A Journey Through the Starman's City on the Drag Bus

Join us for a one-of-a-kind bus tour marking a decade since the passing of our icon, David Bowie. This special event invites fans and music lovers alike to celebrate the life, music and extraordinary legacy of Bowie by travelling to the very heart of the city that helped shape him. Bowie raised funds for many HIV charities and this is a fundraising event for Lunch Positive, a leading HIV charity in Sussex.

Kevin, DRAGBUS founder, is a huge David Bowie fan and had always wanted to do a tour to commemorate the ten years since Bowie passed away. But it wasn’t until a chance encounter with Gaylien De Mars that the idea really took shape. Gaylien regularly performs in Brighton and London and isn’t a tribute act but a superfan who happens to be a gifted musician who interprets Bowie’s songs in the most spine tingling way. They will be performing iconic tracks throughout the tour.

🎤 Where We Will VIsit:

On our commemorative tour we’ll journey through London, stopping at iconic sites linked to Bowie's remarkable career and personal life. Each location visited will offer a unique story, painting a vivid picture of Bowie's connection to the capital and his indelible influence on music, fashion and culture.

Brixton: We'll visit the birthplace of David Bowie and see the famous Bowie mural, a must-see spot where fans from around the world gather to pay homage. Everyone has the chance to leave a candle or flowers to thank Bowie for the music.

Soho & Denmark Street: We'll explore the heart of London’s music scene, where Bowie recorded at legendary studios and crafted some of his most beloved hits.

Heddon Street: You can stand on the very spot where the iconic cover for ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’ was photographed.

The tour will feature an expert guide sharing fascinating anecdotes, rare insights, and stories behind Bowie's time in London. There’ll be Bowie tunes performed by Gaylien throughout the journey, opportunities for photographs, and stops for fans to reflect and connect. Whether you’re a lifelong devotee or simply curious about the man behind the music, this is an unmissable tribute to a true cultural icon.
